Our Story

Kandela Lighting Ltd was founded in 1987 in Derby, England. From the very beginning, quality products, friendly service, and rapid turnaround were the founding principles — and they remain so today.
The business grew quickly enough to justify building a purpose-built factory in Spondon, Derby — where everything is still manufactured today. Over three and a half decades later, we're widely regarded as the UK's biggest lampshade and wireframe manufacturer.
In 2025, we invested in our new ESD Powder Coating facility, bringing coating fully in-house and allowing us to offer a standalone coating service to clients beyond our frame manufacturing.
