The Technology
What is ESD Powder Coating?
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) powder coating is an advanced finishing process where electrostatically charged powder particles are attracted to and evenly deposited across a grounded metal surface. The coated part is then cured in an oven, causing the powder to flow, bond, and harden into a smooth, resilient shell.
The result is a finish that is tougher than conventional paint, resistant to corrosion, chipping and UV fade — and available in an essentially unlimited colour range including all RAL standards, metallics, textures, and custom colours.

From Bare Metal to Flawless Finish
Consultation & Colour Selection
We work with you from the first conversation — selecting the right colour, finish type (matte, gloss, satin, texture), and understanding any performance requirements for your application.
Surface Preparation
Every part is thoroughly cleaned and prepped to ensure optimum adhesion. Masking is applied where required. This step is critical — a perfect finish starts with a perfect surface.
Precision Powder Application
Using our Gema ESD guns, electrostatically charged powder is uniformly applied to every surface. The electrostatic attraction ensures even coverage with minimal waste.
Controlled Curing
Parts are cured in our oven under precisely controlled temperature and dwell time. This bonds the powder into a hard, resilient, uniform finish — consistent batch after batch.
Quality Inspection & Dispatch
Every piece is visually inspected for consistency, adhesion and finish quality before packing and dispatch. We won't send it until it's right.
Need Standalone Powder Coating?
You don't have to be a Kandela frame customer to use our ESD coating service. We coat third-party parts — metal, alloy, and more. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
